Do the unthinkable!

Have you ever sat back, closed your eyes and imagined what your world would look like if you did the unthinkable? If you took a calculated risk?  If you lived without fear?

Cathy Christoff is not crippled by fear. While perusing the newspaper more than 14 years ago, she took a risk and it paid off. With the help of her family, she took a landmark and transformed it. Today, the motion pictures it shows entertain and the programs and competitions it offers motivate young artists to continue on their journey. She inspires people around her more than she knows.

Every day, her decisions have been affirmed. Whether it is a child excited to see a movie or a teenager whose submission wins a competition,  her theatre has an impact on those around it.

Because of risktakers like Cathy, the arts in Durham Region are alive and abundant. Take time this fall to be touched by the energy of our region’s many artists — both on canvas and on stage — you’ll be glad you did!
